Registration is closed

We invite you, your girl scouts, boy scouts and cub scouts plus the rest of your family to join us for what could be the craziest event of the 2016/17 scouting year......our end of year Winter Apero!

A fun evening of hiking, mountain top carol singing, eating, drinking and general outdoor adventuring awaits you!  As in previous years, the "Big Red Fella" himself might even put in an appearance....but only if you've been good!!

What you need to bring

  • FOOD: FINGER FOOD ONLY PLEASE - this year, we are keeping things easy (given a maximum group size of 400!!) and asking each family to bring FINGER FOOD "pot luck" style - something sweet of savoury and ideally a specialty from your own country that can be eaten with your fingers.  Food will be placed "in the middle" for everyone to help themselves buffet-style.  When you register, please let us now what you are planning to bring.

Pack 681, Troop 681 and the Girl Scouts will provide a few sweets along with hot chocolate, coffee and tea.

  • YOUR OWN PLATES AND MUGS: to minimise clear up and washing up, we ask that you bring plates and mugs for your family for the food and drink.
  • A LANTERN: During the evening, we plan to hike from the Hutte into the woods for a candle-lit walk.  For this, we would invite the scouts and any siblings to make their own tea-light lanterns and bring them along.  Ideally tea lights used should be the battery powered variety but if you use real tea lights, parents are responsible for lighting and monitoring their children with the lanterns.  For those needing a little inspiration, please see the following websites: and

Please register for this event so that we know how many we have coming and what food each of you plans to bring. Register at:

The apero will be held at the Waldhutte Sulzkopf in Muttenz ( on Saturday 10th December from 4.00pm until approximately 7.30.

For driving directions please use the following two links - the Hutte is about 4.5km from Muttenz town centre and you will need a car.  Given possible numbers, we encourage car pooling wherever possible as parking will become limited at the top.
