On November 10, Pack 681 Basel and Pack 225 Bern will commemorate Remembrance Day with a trip to the WW2 Epinal American Cemetery in Epinal France.

This is an important trip for scouts of all ages. As part of our commitment to serve others, we will lay wreaths at the graves of 3 soldiers from the 222nd Infantry Regiment,  42nd Infantry Division who died in WW2:

  • PVT Alfred Bennett
  • SSGT  Edwin Jr  Burgher
  • 1LT John L.  Berg

Baden Powell believed that the key to creating a lasting world peace was through children, and that by teaching children a set of universal values rooted in friendship and kindness, that wars could be avoided. He never wavered in that vision despite having lived through two world wars.

This trip is an opportunity for us to reflect on our duty and promise as scouts to fulfill that vision.

The Cemetery visit will last from 10:30 - 13:30. Please pack a lunch and come in full uniform.

Looking forward to seeing you all there.
